The Community of Madrid has processed 537 disability assessment files during the first weeks of an agreement with the Illustrious College of Physicians of Madrid, aiming to improve administrative response and reduce waiting times for citizens.

This initial assessment was presented by the regional minister of Family, Youth and Social Affairs during a visit to Reshogar Círvite, a pioneering residential facility in Spain for people with intellectual disabilities or premature aging, located in the San Blas-Canillejas district. The regional government allocates over half a million euros annually to maintain the 21 public places available at this facility.

"The commitment of the 122 doctors adhering to this initiative demonstrates the willingness of healthcare professionals, something we especially appreciate."

Furthermore, it has been highlighted that the regional government's objective is to increase the resolution capacity of these procedures by up to 33%. The collaboration agreement between the Community of Madrid and the College of Physicians seeks to strengthen the preparation of clinical reports within the disability recognition processes.
Professionals enrolled in this program provide necessary support to public network doctors who currently handle disability assessment requests at 10 base centers. Through this agreement, the regional executive aims to reach 80,000 annual recognitions, including new applications, renewals, and revisions, with the goal of reducing the volume of pending files and decreasing the average resolution period to a maximum of six months. The regional government will invest 2.3 million euros annually for this measure.
