Madrid City Council is in the final stages of renovating the Municipal Sports Center located in the Villaverde district, following an investment of three million euros.

The project, funded through the Plan Sures, aims to upgrade facilities that have been in use for several decades. The works, expected to conclude this autumn, include a comprehensive renovation of the indoor swimming pools, replacing linings and optimizing water purification systems.
The intervention also focuses on energy efficiency and building safety. Air conditioning will be installed in the sports hall, and the fire protection system will be updated to meet current regulations. Additionally, plumbing and electrical networks will be renewed, and the basement dehumidifier, currently out of order, will be replaced.
The changing rooms will undergo a complete overhaul with new finishes and fixtures, alongside improvements to common areas on the ground floor. The project also includes structural repairs to basement walls and the installation of new access points to facilitate roof maintenance.
