The city of Madrid is preparing for a day of intense activity, combining traditional May 2nd commemorations with significant developments in the leadership of the Public Prosecutor's Office and international diplomatic movements.

The May 2nd celebrations, commemorating the popular uprising of 1808 against Napoleonic troops, include a historical reenactment at the Puente del Rey esplanade. Additionally, the festive program features concerts, theater plays, drone shows, and other historical representations.
In the judicial sphere, the Attorney General has decided not to renew the term of the chief prosecutor of Madrid, a decision that is part of a package of 22 appointments within the Public Prosecutor's Office. These changes require the approval of the Council of Ministers.
Concurrently, El País festival kicks off this Friday at Matadero Madrid, offering a variety of activities, some with free access and others requiring prior registration. This cultural event adds to the capital's vibrant agenda.
On the diplomatic front, the government of Venezuela has appointed a new ambassador to Madrid, a figure close to a former Spanish prime minister, adding an international component to Madrid's day.
