The initiative, starting with the new school year, aims to bring public services closer to students in their daily environment. The Youth Information Points (PIJ) will offer details on activities at the Zona Joven, volunteer programs, scholarships, employment opportunities, training, and benefits such as the youth card or cultural voucher.
The goal is to facilitate access to information about available resources for this population group, overcoming barriers of travel and shyness. Furthermore, this presence in educational centers allows Youth technicians from Zona Joven Torreforum to establish themselves as approachable reference figures for the young people of Torrelodones.
This proximity also benefits the technicians, who can gain firsthand knowledge of young people's concerns, questions, and needs. The initiative, which began in 2013, has evolved from a simple information board to include practical activities like the Badge Workshop.
Currently, the PIJs are located at IES Diego Velázquez on Thursdays from 11:00 to 11:30 AM and at CEIPSO El Encinar on Thursdays from 12:00 to 12:30 PM.
