The Community of Madrid has achieved historic figures in international tourism during the month of June. The region welcomed a total of 884,881 tourists, representing a 13.9% increase compared to the same month last year. This figure marks the best arrival record for a June in the entire available historical series.
The spending generated by these visitors also reached an all-time high, totaling 1.86 billion euros. This represents a 7.3% increase compared to June of last year. The average stay for tourists in the region was 7.31 days, 7.75% more than the previous year.
Although the daily spending per tourist experienced a 12.5% drop compared to June 2025, standing at 288 euros (compared to the national average of 211 euros), the average spending per person in the region amounted to 2,103 euros. This figure is significantly higher than the national average of 1,393 euros.
This combination of longer stays and lower daily spending by visitors suggests a shift in the tourist profile, with visitors tending to extend their stay in the region while moderating their consumption.
In the year-to-date figures, Madrid has received 5,014,074 tourists by June, a 9.49% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The accumulated spending in the first six months of the year amounts to 10 billion euros, confirming a trend of sustained growth in both arrivals and tourism revenue.
