The Community of Madrid has recorded a 10% increase in business dissolutions between January and July 2026, reaching 5,111 processes, according to data from Informa D&B.

Despite this rise in closures, insolvency proceedings in the region have seen a 7% decrease during the same period, totaling 838 cases. This figure places Madrid as the second region with the highest number of accumulated insolvencies, behind Catalonia.
Sectoral analysis reveals that Commerce, Business Services, and Construction and real estate activities are the sectors with the highest volume of both insolvencies and dissolutions. Regarding special procedures for micro-enterprises, the region leads nationally, accounting for 42% of the total.
Across Spain, the trend shows mixed results: while insolvency proceedings have fallen by 4% in the first seven months of the year, dissolutions have grown by 12% compared to the same period in 2025. In July, 602 insolvencies and 2,098 dissolutions were recorded nationwide.
