The municipality of Humanes de Madrid will allocate over 650,000 euros in grants to boost the employability of young people under 30 and unemployed individuals over 45.

The Humanes de Madrid City Council will strengthen its employment policies with an investment exceeding 650,000 euros in grants. These funds will be directed towards facilitating new job opportunities for two groups considered particularly vulnerable in the labor market: unemployed individuals over 45 years old and young people under 30.
The grants, awarded by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Employment of the Community of Madrid through the Directorate General of Public Employment Services, will enable the launch of two programs. These will combine hiring, training, and professional qualification with the aim of improving participants' employability.
The first subsidy, with a budget of 391,953.84 euros, is part of the 2026 Public Employment-Training Program for Professional Activation. Thanks to this initiative, the City Council will be able to temporarily hire 21 unemployed individuals, prioritizing those over 45, for a period of eight months. Contracts must commence before October 1, 2026, and workers will be selected from candidates proposed by the Employment Office of the Community of Madrid. The positions cover diverse profiles linked to essential municipal services: painter and mason officers, a plumber, an archivist, environmental agents, concierges, administrative assistants, and an IT technician. In addition to gaining work experience, participants will receive complementary training focused on enhancing their personal and social employment skills, as well as environmental awareness.
This initiative is complemented by a second grant of 258,650 euros, awarded under the Program for the Promotion of Youth Employment with Local Corporations – Professional Qualification, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) 2021-2027. In this case, the program will allow for the hiring of ten unemployed young people under 30 for ten months through alternating training contracts. Participants will undertake street cleaning tasks while completing specific training linked to professional certificates related to cleaning open spaces, industrial facilities, and urban waste management. The project also includes training in digital skills and social abilities to facilitate young people's future labor market integration.
To access this program, applicants must be registered as job seekers in the Community of Madrid and be part of the National Youth Guarantee System. Furthermore, aspirants must not possess a qualification related to the offered occupation.
From the Department of Local Development, it is emphasized that both initiatives aim not only to generate employment but also to provide real training and qualification tools to individuals who face greater difficulties in accessing the labor market. Interested individuals can obtain more information at the Integral Center for Economic and Employment Development (CIDEE), located on Calle Macarena in Humanes de Madrid.
