The autumn cultural agenda of the Fundación Canal, framed within the celebration of its 25th anniversary and the 175 years of Canal de Isabel II, will feature two main exhibitions: 'El infierno de Dante. Doré y Rauschenberg', opening on October 7 at Sala Mateo Inurria 2, and 'Aqua Mater', dedicated to the work of photographer Sebastião Salgado on water, which can be visited in late October at Sala Castellana 214.
The exhibition on Dante will bring together 111 prints and lithographs by Gustave Doré and Robert Rauschenberg inspired by the Divine Comedy. Meanwhile, 'Aqua Mater' will present a hundred images by Salgado, captured over more than two decades of travel, exploring water as an essential element for life.
These exhibitions will be complemented by a calendar of talks, workshops, family activities, concerts, and digital content. On September 24, astrophysicist Eva Villaver will participate in the Conference Cycle with the session 'Life on our planet. A cosmic rarity?', focusing on the origin of the universe and the role of water.
Through Canal Educa, Fundación Canal and Canal de Isabel II will continue to promote knowledge about water and the care of the natural environment among students from Early Childhood Education to High School, including activities in Hospital Classrooms.
The Foundation will also maintain its digital environmental outreach content with the videoblog 'Somos Agua'. To mark its 25th anniversary, it will publish the illustrated album 'El agua tiene un plan' to raise awareness among children about the importance of this resource and its responsible use.
Scientific-environmental workshops, aimed at children aged 6 to 12, will include new proposals such as 'The Magic of Sound. Beyond the Waves' and 'Underwater World. Explore Seas and Oceans'.
Chamber music, performed by soloists from the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid (ORCAM), will offer the concerts 'Schubert from another perspective' (September 27), 'A Night at the Opera' (October 25), and 'A Todo Tango' (November 29). The Family Music Cycle will premiere on October 10 'De puntillas', a dance and melody performance.
