The 40-member contingent was welcomed at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The team comprised members of the Community of Madrid Fire Department, SUMMA 112 medical professionals, and canine handlers from the Spanish School of Rescue and Civil Protection in Las Rozas, supported by four rescue dogs.
The operation, coordinated by the Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency, focused on searching for survivors, assessing structural damage to buildings, and managing the logistics of international teams in the La Guaira region.
During field operations, specialists utilized drones, thermal cameras, and trained dogs to locate individuals trapped in rubble. Furthermore, the Madrid team provided direct assistance to those affected and oversaw the coordination of various international aid groups operating in the disaster zone.
