A total of ten people required medical assistance this Thursday following two separate house fires that broke out in the Madrid districts of Villaverde and Ciudad Lineal.

The first incident occurred in a building on Godella Street, in Villaverde. The fire started on the ground floor, causing significant damage to the living room and filling the entire structure with smoke. During the emergency response, National Police officers rescued a woman and her pet through a window after breaking through a metal gate with the help of local residents.
Madrid Firefighters completed the rescue operations by evacuating two other residents from upper floors and a second animal trapped in one of the rooms. In total, five neighbors and two police officers were treated by Samur-Civil Protection for mild smoke inhalation, with three of them being transported to hospitals for further medical evaluation.
Simultaneously, a second fire was reported on Constanza Street, in the Ciudad Lineal district. In this instance, the flames spread through the facade, damaging the exterior carpentry of the upper floors and creating a large amount of smoke that affected the building's staircase. Three people were treated at the scene by emergency services.
