The Community of Madrid is launching an in-person course to train Protection Officers in non-formal education, leisure, and free time environments, with registration open until October 12th.

Registration is now open for the in-person course "Creation of safe environments and good treatment for children and adolescents in non-formal education, leisure, and free time settings." The training, to be held in November 2026, aims to delve into the measures and obligations established by the LOPIVI.
The course is aimed at leisure time monitors, educators, heads of organizations working with children and youth, and individuals already designated as Protection Officers. It also targets interested young people with experience in child intervention.
Key objectives include acquiring knowledge on preventing child violence, identifying risk factors, and developing skills for the role of a protection officer. Participants will be trained to implement policies and protocols, and to coordinate with social, health, and security services.
The methodology will be participatory, incorporating practical case studies, role-playing, individual and group work, and various resources such as videos and interactive presentations. Sessions will take place on October 13, 15, 20, and 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Espacio Joven 14-30. The total duration is 16 hours.
Interested individuals must complete a registration form and confirm their attendance if selected. Applicants are reminded to check their email and WhatsApp for notifications. Completion of the prerequisite online course "Creation of safe environments and good treatment for children and adolescents in non-formal education, leisure, and free time settings" is mandatory.
The faculty comprises the technical team from HOLISTIC, a multidisciplinary group of experts from the Comillas Pontifical University and technicians specializing in child protection systems.
