The Municipal Police of Madrid has dismantled an organization allegedly dedicated to the storage and distribution of counterfeit clothing, seizing nearly 6,700 items, mainly football shirts, valued at approximately €670,000.

The operation, named 'Naranjito', resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the investigation of thirteen others for an alleged crime against industrial property. The investigation began after receiving information pointing to the use of several storage units in the Arganzuela district as warehouses for subsequent merchandise distribution.
Police surveillance detected a constant movement of people entering and leaving these spaces carrying bags and backpacks with products. On July 1st, police inspected thirteen storage units linked to the illicit activity.
During the intervention, approximately 6,700 counterfeit items were found, with an estimated value of €670,000 if they had been original products. Football shirts inspired by the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup predominated.
The investigation remains open to identify the lessees of several registered storage units and to clarify the degree of involvement of each person in the alleged scheme. Agents from the Central Judicial Police Station and the Integral District Police Stations of Centro Sur and Arganzuela participated in the operation.
