A routine check by Madrid's Municipal Police in the La Fortuna neighborhood, Carabanchel district, led to the dismantling of a suspected organized gang involved in construction site robberies, resulting in four arrests.

Last Thursday, June 11, 2026, officers from Madrid's Municipal Police noticed a van making an evasive maneuver upon realizing the police presence in the Carabanchel district. Upon stopping the vehicle, it was discovered that it lacked mandatory insurance and had an expired technical vehicle inspection (ITV).
During the inspection of the cargo area, officers found two men hidden. The four occupants displayed nervousness and provided contradictory testimonies, claiming the van was borrowed. A search yielded numerous professional tools and specialized civil engineering machinery, none of which they could legally justify.
Corporate identity documents and logos of a supposed construction company were also found. Verifications confirmed the company was fictitious, allegedly used as a front to access construction sites and steal materials without raising suspicion.
The value of the recovered industrial material is estimated between 15,000 and 18,000 euros. Subsequent investigations linked the van and tools to previous robberies at real estate developments in San Agustín del Guadalix, leading to the arrest of the four men for property crimes.
