The incident occurred around 00:00 AM on Monday, July 13, near number 263 on Castellana, in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district. For reasons still under investigation, two cars collided, causing one of the vehicles to leave the roadway and descend the subway station's stairs, becoming trapped in the infrastructure.
Several units from the Madrid City Council Fire Department and SAMUR-Civil Protection paramedics were quickly dispatched to the scene. Firefighters performed complex extrication maneuvers to free the two occupants from the vehicle. Subsequently, the car was removed with a heavy-duty crane, and the affected structure was repaired to secure the access.

SAMUR-Civil Protection paramedics attended to the two passengers, a man and a woman, both around 40 years old, who sustained multiple traumas. The man was classified as a minor injury, initially presenting only an ankle fracture. The woman, however, suffered more serious injuries, including multiple fractures and a pelvic injury, with her condition categorized as grave.
Medical personnel from the La Paz University Hospital, located adjacent to the area, also assisted in the care. Both victims were transferred and admitted to the aforementioned hospital.
