The Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions at the Autonomous University of Madrid has invited the Cabildo de Tenerife to collaborate on a workshop about the Canarian rosette, a representative artisan technique of the archipelago's textile heritage.

This initiative is part of the museum's commitment to the conservation and dissemination of popular arts, also seeking to strengthen cooperation between various cultural institutions. The Canarian rosette is one of the most prominent expressions of the textile heritage of the Canary Islands.
The project will feature the participation of artisan Antonio Rodríguez Ruiz, a renowned specialist in this technique. Rodríguez previously conducted workshops in 2025, which were very well received and demonstrated the growing interest in this tradition. The new plan includes facilitating his travel and stay in Madrid to continue the training.

"These types of collaborations help keep the tradition alive and reinforce its transmission to new generations."

Efraín Medina · Councillor of the Cabildo de Tenerife
The Cabildo de Tenerife has positively evaluated the proposal, emphasizing the importance of the rosette as a cultural symbol. Councillor Efraín Medina highlighted that these alliances are fundamental for preserving and ensuring the continuity of this valuable artisan heritage.
