The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, met this Wednesday with the US Ambassador to Spain, Benjamín León Jr., to strengthen bilateral relations.

The Community of Madrid has reaffirmed its commitment to the United States in a meeting held at the Real Casa de Correos. The encounter, led by President Isabel Díaz Ayuso and US Ambassador Benjamín León Jr., aimed to consolidate the institutional, commercial, and cultural ties between the region and the North American country.
According to data from the Regional Government, the United States is the leading investor in the community since 2019, with an accumulated contribution of 28.3 billion euros. This figure underscores the strategic importance of the bilateral economic relationship.

The United States is a beacon of the free world.

In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of American independence, Díaz Ayuso announced the awarding of the International Medal of the Community of Madrid to the United States, recognizing its role as a "beacon of the free world".
The Madrid president has visited the United States on six occasions during her term, the most recent being in March to New York, with an agenda focused on attracting investment and enhancing the region's international projection.
As an additional recognition of cultural and symbolic ties, the United States will be the guest country at this year's Hispanidad celebrations.
