The Civil Guard has arrested 11 young people, aged between 18 and 25, for their alleged participation in illegal races and modified vehicle gatherings that brought together over 500 people in Coslada and other locations in the Community of Madrid.

Investigations began last summer after detecting 'kedadas' (gatherings) on social media, where cars modified for enhanced performance were showcased before clandestine races took place. These events, usually held on weekends, attracted drivers from various autonomous communities.
The most frequent meeting points were located in municipalities such as Coslada, Fuenlabrada, Pinto, Valdemoro, and Madrid capital itself, also extending to provinces like Toledo, Cuenca, and Navarra. Organizers, who actively participated in the races, wore balaclavas and tampered with license plates to evade police identification, even establishing protocols to hinder interventions.
In addition to traffic safety offenses, the individuals endangered other road users by driving at high speeds between meeting points. The operation has led to the arrest of 11 youths of various nationalities with police records. Four vehicles and materials such as flares and balaclavas have been seized.
The arrested individuals face charges including reckless driving, document forgery, simulation of a crime, serious disobedience to authority, and membership in a criminal organization. The Civil Guard reminds the public of the penalties associated with these offenses, ranging from fines to prison sentences of up to eight years for the organizers.
The institution emphasizes the severe danger these activities pose to road safety and personal integrity. Public cooperation is requested to report such illegal events via phone number 062 or the Alertcops app, aiming to promote safer mobility.
