A total of 120 students in Torrejón de Ardoz have completed their training as 'Student Mediators', a pioneering program by the City Council and its Local Police aimed at preventing conflicts and school bullying in the town's eight public high schools.

The program, driven by the Department of Welfare and the Local Police, has equipped participants with specific mediation tools. Students have learned to identify coexistence issues, intervene in conflict situations, and foster understanding among their peers.
Following the training, students will act as 'Mediator Agents' in their respective educational centers. The training sessions took place at Parque Europa. Last October, participants received their diplomas in a ceremony attended by the mayor, Alejandro Navarro Prieto, the Councilor for Welfare, Education, and Immigration, Rubén Martínez, and police and Social Welfare officials.
The project, named 'Torrejón media: classroom without conflicts', had previously been recognized by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and the National Association of Tutor Agents (ANAT) at the III National Awards for Good Practices, in the categories of “Perseverance and effort and special awards to institutions”.
