The Spanish Olympic Committee and the City Council of Torrejón de Ardoz have announced that the Madrid municipality will host 'Olympic Day 2026' on Saturday, June 6. This annual celebration, held in over 160 countries, aims to promote the values of the Olympic movement.
The event will take place between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM at the Joaquín Blume Municipal Sports Center. The program is designed to encourage sports practice, well-being, fair play, perseverance, and respect among all participants.
The event presentation included the Director of Sports for the COE, Ricardo Leiva, the mayor of Torrejón de Ardoz, Alejandro Navarro, and the Councilor for Sports, Miriam Gutiérrez. Officials detailed the content of a day focused on sports, community, and Olympic values.
Young people and adults will have the opportunity to participate in various sports disciplines organized in collaboration with local clubs, sports schools, and federations. The event will feature elite athletes such as Saúl Craviotto, Ana Alonso, and María Pérez, who will share experiences and be available for autographs and photos.
The opening ceremony will be inspired by the spirit of the Olympic Games, aiming to convey the emotion athletes feel when representing Spain in top-level international competitions. Throughout the morning, free sports activities will be offered to all attendees.
Participants will receive commemorative t-shirts and a diploma as a memento. The event is sponsored by the Ayuntamiento de Torrejón de Ardoz and supported by the Catholic University of Murcia, Coca-Cola, and HSN.
