Torrejón de Ardoz Celebrates Olympic Day with 30 Free Sports Disciplines

The Joaquín Blume Sports City hosts the commemoration promoted by the Spanish Olympic Committee to foster Olympic values.

The Joaquín Blume Sports City in Torrejón de Ardoz will be the venue this Saturday for Olympic Day, an initiative by the Spanish Olympic Committee offering free practice of nearly thirty sports disciplines for all ages.

The Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) has selected Torrejón de Ardoz as the sole host city in Spain for this significant commemoration. The event aims to promote the intrinsic values of sport and the Olympic movement among citizens, such as excellence, respect, and friendship.
The day will take place between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM and is designed to welcome participants of all ages, offering a unique opportunity to experience a wide range of sports.
Attendees will be able to enjoy disciplines such as canoeing, triathlon, rowing, table tennis, paddle tennis, fronton, archery, modern pentathlon, judo, petanque, Olympic wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo, karate, climbing, chess, BMX, and hockey. Complementing this offering, activities like skating, 3x3 basketball, football, futsal, fencing, handball, boxing, tai chi, athletics, softball, badminton, volleyball, and kung fu will be available. Additionally, lifesaving and lifeguarding activities, along with recreational games, will be included.
The event will commence with an opening ceremony featuring a parade of clubs and athletes, the raising of the Olympic flag, the lighting of the torch, and the opening speech, marking the start of a festive and sporting day.
The event will be attended by top-level athletes, including several Olympic medalists, who will also be signing autographs starting at 12:00 PM. Among the distinguished guests are figures such as Saúl Craviotto, David Cal, María Pérez, Ayoub Ghafda, and Artemi Gavezou, alongside other athletes linked to Olympism such as Carolina Pascual, Ana Alonso, Lola Riera, Jenifer Pareja, Rocío Delgado, and David Alarza.
During the day, t-shirts will be distributed while supplies last, and all participants will receive a commemorative diploma as a memento of their involvement in this event.
