The city of Coslada has started the 2025/2026 school year smoothly across all its educational centers, with a total of 11,363 students enrolled in Infant, Primary, Special Education, Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), and Baccalaureate levels. This figure represents an increase of 125 students compared to the previous year, a 1.1% rise.
Key reasons for this student growth include the full implementation of free education for 0-3 year olds, encouraging families to enroll their children from infancy; an increase in students from outside Coslada in ESO; and a broader range of Baccalaureate options.
The available Baccalaureate tracks are: Science and Technology, geared towards STEM careers; Humanities and Social Sciences, with differentiated pathways; Arts Baccalaureate; General Baccalaureate, a hybrid option for undecided students; and the International Baccalaureate, offered at the IES Miguel Catalán.
A notable novelty this year is the introduction of CEIPSO centers (Infant, Primary, and Secondary Education Schools) in three schools: CEIP San Esteban (1 classroom, 11 students), CEIP Séneca (2 classrooms, 45 students), and CEIP Alfredo Landa (1 classroom, 21 students).
Coslada hosts six public educational centers designated as preferred centers for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), featuring specialized classrooms and resources: CEIP Alfredo Landa, CEIP Antoni Tápies, CEIP Blas de Otero, CEIP El Olivo, CEIP Rosalía de Castro, and IES Miguel Catalán. Additionally, Special Education classrooms are located at CEIP Séneca and CEIP Gonzalo de Berceo.
In Compulsory Secondary Education, student-to-teacher ratios have been reduced to 25 students per class. In Primary Education, the reduction to 20 students per class now extends to the 2nd grade this academic year.
By level, the first cycle of Infant education (0-3 years) has 906 enrollments (+16 students), and the second cycle (3-5 years) totals 1,630 students (+13). Primary education has 4,070 students (+10). ESO has 3,406 enrolled (+62), while Baccalaureate begins with 1,125 students, a figure similar to the previous year. Special Education starts with 226 students (+19).
The vast majority of enrollments are in public centers. The Ayuntamiento de Coslada reaffirms its commitment to quality public education, supporting schools and the educational community to meet current societal challenges.
