Councilor Silvia Castillo held a meeting with Susana Tordesillas, president of the Velilla Artistic Skating Club, and its board of directors, highlighting the excellent collaborative relationship between both parties. The club has experienced significant growth in recent years thanks to its learning and support model, which includes specific technical training and complementary resources.
The City Council positively values that all federated skaters have previously passed through the municipal sports school, reflecting the synergy sought between the institution and the associative fabric. This collaboration allows athletes to discover the discipline at the school and evolve through competition with the club.
During the meeting, the concluded season was evaluated, improvement proposals were collected, and the sports planning for the next academic year was analyzed. Both parties agreed to continue collaborating on events and activities to promote artistic skating and highlight the efforts of its athletes. The document regulating the use of municipal sports facilities for the 2026/2027 season was also signed.
Furthermore, the Councilor for Sports presented the main lines of the child and adolescent protection project in sports, which will begin in September. This initiative aims to raise awareness, train, and provide tools to all those involved in sports activities, with the fundamental participation of boards of directors, technical teams, athletes, and families to create safe and respectful environments.
The City Council has expressed its gratitude to the Velilla Artistic Skating Club for its work, its attention to the integral development of its athletes, and its constant willingness to collaborate with the municipality.
