The Local Security Board of Rivas-Vaciamadrid has approved a special security and mobility plan for the 2026 festivities, which will take place from May 13 to 17 at the fairgrounds and the Old Town.

The security plan will involve 356 Local Police officers, distributed in three daily shifts throughout the five days of celebrations. These personnel will be present in both the festive areas and the neighborhoods, with special reinforcement during evening and night hours in key locations such as the Miguel Ríos auditorium, entity booths, and the youth area. The Civil Guard will also increase its presence during the festivities.
The police coordination post will be located in the ticket office building of the Miguel Ríos auditorium. From there, the SARF system, an acoustic security device, will be managed, allowing intervention with sound equipment at the fairgrounds, including attractions and the auditorium, to broadcast security messages or public information if necessary. Additionally, entity booths will have emergency health and security buttons to facilitate rapid response from police, medical personnel, and Civil Protection.
As part of the commitment to safety and prevention, the fairgrounds will once again feature a Violet Point. This space, operational from Wednesday, May 13, to Saturday, May 16, between 10:00 PM and 4:30 AM, will offer information and assistance for potential sexual assaults.
Regarding mobility, the plan includes shuttle buses between the Rivas Futura Metro station and the Miguel Ríos auditorium. 1,800 deterrent parking spaces will be made available near Aurelio Álvarez Avenue and the Metro, in addition to reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility. The City Council will also maintain the shared taxi service and reinforce the BicinRivas service.
The new Civil Protection base, permanently located at the fairgrounds, has been refurbished by the City Council with an investment exceeding 200,000 euros. These facilities, which include a triage room, an assistance room, and offices, are the result of relocation after a fire at the old headquarters in September 2025. Currently, Rivas Civil Protection has 108 volunteers, nine vehicles, and three motorcycles.
