The main opposition group believes recent events highlight the breakdown of the coalition between the People's Party and Vox, and confirm the failure of an executive that, they claim, has been mired in internal conflicts for months while the city remains paralyzed. Socialists argue that the removal of Víctor Acosta's responsibilities confirms a political crisis the government team allegedly tried to conceal.
Socialist spokesperson Javier Rodríguez Palacios states that mayor Piquet attempted to project an image of normality despite a deep internal fracture. According to the PSOE, the city suffers the consequences with delays, lack of projects, and deteriorating public services. They criticize Vox's position, deeming it subordinate and lacking real influence despite retaining responsibilities.
The socialist opposition also questions Víctor Acosta's continued leadership of areas such as the Municipal Sports City and the District II presidency, recalling the complaints against the Vox leader. They find it unacceptable that he continues in public office after being stripped of his main institutional duties by the mayor herself.
Rodríguez Palacios accuses the mayor of making confrontation constant and prioritizing political propaganda over problem-solving. He cites delays in the Vía Complutense works, related to hydraulic infrastructure, and the disturbances caused to residents by sewage issues and prolonged traffic cuts as examples.
For the PSOE, this crisis occurs at a critical time for Alcalá de Henares, with pending projects and unresolved issues in urban cleaning, neighborhood maintenance, and committed investments. They demand immediate public explanations from Judith Piquet and insist on the restoration of institutional stability, warning that the current situation directly impacts the administration's functioning and service quality.
