The planned actions range from painting classrooms, offices, and common areas, to installing mosquito nets and applying vinyl coverings to facilitate wall maintenance. Repairs in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work will also be carried out.
Mayor Javier Corpa highlighted the local government's commitment to public education, stating that these works aim for more modern, sustainable, accessible, and secure facilities. He noted that these are part of a global strategy, mentioning the prior installation of pergolas and a future investment of €4.4 million for air conditioning with solar panels, as well as the renovation of sports courts.
Carolina Gómez, the councilor responsible for the area, added that the objective is to have these facilities ready for the next academic year, including a special program for interior and exterior cleaning, and gardening work in the courtyards.
As part of social policies, the Family Aid for the Purchase of School Supplies for the 2026-2027 academic year will resume, aimed at residents with children enrolled in various educational levels, from Early Childhood to University. These aids will cover the purchase of basic materials, computer items, and musical instruments.
Additionally, the City Council maintains work-life balance campaigns during the academic year with the programs «Funny School» and «Cole Abierto», offering extracurricular activities with scholarship possibilities.
