The Alcalá de Henares City Council has started renovation works on the main staircase of the Fairground, located on Ronda del Henares, to ensure safety and accessibility.

The access will remain closed for an estimated period of two to three weeks, with works expected to be completed before the start of the local Ferias y Fiestas.
The Councilor for Urban Works and Maintenance, Antonio Saldaña, explained that the investment is close to 10,000 euros. The main intervention will involve removing the current wooden flooring, which has deteriorated due to time and humidity, and had caused several falls.

"Despite repairs in recent years, the material was largely worm-eaten and had caused various falls, making its replacement necessary."

A new structure with more solid, resistant, and durable concrete curbs will be installed. The project also includes the placement of handrails on both sides of the stairs to facilitate pedestrian movement, especially for people with reduced mobility or the elderly.
