The initiative, which will run during the months of May and June, seeks to offer a safe space for mutual support and provide practical psychological tools. Old age often brings significant transformations, such as health loss, decreased personal autonomy, or the onset of loneliness, and this workshop aims to ensure no resident faces these processes without help.
The program, titled Understanding Loss and Learning to Cope, is conceived as a trusting environment where participants can express their feelings and share experiences. The main goal is to strengthen attendees' emotional resources and improve their overall well-being through communication and companionship.
“"Unwanted loneliness is one of the great current challenges, and this workshop is positioned as a key tool to detect and combat it."
The program consists of eight in-person sessions that will take place every Wednesday in May and June, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The methodology is participatory, combining psychoeducation with group dynamics and practical exercises, so that participants acquire useful tools applicable in their daily lives.
This project is developed thanks to the collaboration between the city council and the regional senior care network, integrating into the Network for Senior Care in Solitude. Spaces are limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registrations can be made in person at the Senior Citizen Service Office or via email at c.mayores@paracuellosdejarama.es.
