The Paracuellos de Jarama City Council, in collaboration with official chroniclers, is organizing a free guided tour of the old town on May 30 for residents to discover local history and anecdotes.

The initiative, now in its third edition, has become a cultural benchmark in Paracuellos de Jarama. This activity aims to bring local heritage closer to its inhabitants, offering a learning experience that helps understand the evolution of the area.
The proposal stems from the desire to enhance the identity of the municipality, popularly known as «the balcony of Madrid» due to its privileged views. Attendees will be able to connect with the past in an enjoyable way, through stories that have shaped the community.
The tour will be led by Luis Yuste and Javier Nájera, official chroniclers of Paracuellos de Jarama, who will provide historical accuracy and curious anecdotes. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 10:30 AM, with the meeting point at Chorrillo Alta street, next to the municipal public parking. The tour is estimated to last two and a half hours.

"After the good reception of the first two guided tours, we are once again organizing a visit where residents and visitors will discover the history of our municipality, told by the Official Chroniclers."

Eva Coronado · Councillor for Tourism
The itinerary has been carefully selected to cover the most interesting points of the old town, including the Picón del Cura Park and the Casa Grande. The town hall, the Church of San Vicente Mártir, and the main gate of the Medinaceli Palace will also be visited. The chroniclers will provide details about the Malsobaco Castle.
The route will conclude at the Lavadero (wash house), a significant spot that evokes memories of past social life and community work. This ending connects the history of grand palaces with the daily lives of ordinary people, showing how life has changed in Paracuellos de Jarama.
To ensure an optimal experience, the maximum capacity is 30 people. Prior registration is essential by sending an email to turismo@paracuellosdejarama.es. The registration period opens on May 4. The activity is completely free and aims to promote culture and local tourism.
