The Municipal Library of Paracuellos de Jarama has prepared an extensive program to commemorate Book Day, offering activities for all ages from April 21st to April 24th.

The town of Paracuellos de Jarama is gearing up for a week dedicated to reading, with the Municipal Library at the heart of various activities. The program, designed to celebrate Book Day, aims to foster reading habits among residents of all generations, from the youngest to adults.
The celebrations will kick off on Tuesday, April 21st, with the ‘Juégame un cuento’ workshop, aimed at children aged 3 to 6 years. This activity, scheduled from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, requires the presence of an accompanying adult to promote family reading. The following day, Wednesday, April 22nd, children aged 7 to 12 years can participate in the ‘Libros de artista’ workshop, exploring the creative and visual aspects of literature during the same afternoon hours.

"The program aims to build a bridge between generations, from children discovering their first stories to adults seeking new voices in contemporary literature."

On Thursday, April 23rd, the main day of the commemoration, the Municipal Library will host the presentation of the work Tocata y fuga bajo las sábanas, written by a local author. The event, scheduled for 7:00 PM, is aimed at an adult audience and offers an opportunity to learn firsthand about the writer's creative process. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
To conclude the week, Friday, April 24th, will see the return of storytelling sessions with ‘Un viernes de cuento’, presented by Légolas Colectivo Escénico, featuring ‘Los cuentos de María Sarmiento’. This family activity, recommended for children aged 4 years and up, will have two sessions: from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM and from 6:15 PM to 6:45 PM, due to high demand.
Registration for the children's workshops can be done by sending an email to biblioteca@paracuellosdejarama.es or by visiting the Municipal Library in person. For the Friday storytelling sessions, the registration period opens on Monday, April 20th, and applications should be sent to cuentacuentos@paracuellosdejarama.es. Interested parties are advised to pay attention to the dates and requirements to ensure their participation in this cultural week.
