The incident occurred in Los Cerros Park, where a local resident spotted the animal with a leg injury that prevented it from moving normally. The citizen immediately contacted the Local Police, guiding the officers to the hard-to-reach area, which was only accessible on foot.
The rescue operation, complicated by the location, required coordination with the Group for the Rehabilitation of Native Fauna and its Habitat (GREFA). A specialist from the organization traveled to the site to assist in immobilizing the roe deer, covering its head to reduce stress and securing its limbs before transporting it on a stretcher to a police vehicle.
The animal was handed over to GREFA for necessary veterinary care. The Security Councillor, Orlena de Miguel, praised the professionalism of the officers and highlighted the importance of citizen collaboration in wildlife protection, as well as effective coordination with specialized organizations.
“"The professionalism and sensitivity of the officers, along with the effective coordination with specialized entities like GREFA, ensure the best possible care for rescued animals."
