The first deputy mayor of the City Council of Alcalá de Henares and director of the Area of Culture, Social Welfare, and Public Services, Isabel Ruiz, has distanced herself from the internal situation of the local PSOE, while praising the management of mayor Judith Piquet. Ruiz highlighted the more than 75 million euros invested in essential city projects during Piquet's third year in office.
In contrast, Ruiz pointed to recent departures within the Socialist Party of Alcalá de Henares, describing a scenario of "purges" under the leadership of Javier Rodríguez. According to the deputy mayor, this leadership is characterized as "despotic, ruthless, and very vindictive," raising questions about how Rodríguez would treat the citizens of Alcalá in the future if he acts this way towards his own party colleagues.
Ruiz also referenced the recent indictment of former government president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, linking it to "cheap morality" and a "business network" of questionable ethical depth. The deputy mayor described Zapatero as the "moral beacon of Sanchismo," suggesting his current situation reflects the essence of the current government.
The criticism extends to the figure of "Rodríguez Palacios," whom she accuses of "hunting" socialists who do not recognize his "illustrious figure" and "natural gift for command," comparing him to a "little emperor" who only seeks "flatterers" in his personal "domain." Ruiz concludes that while "Rodríguez Zapatero" faces legal proceedings nationally, "Rodríguez Palacios" maintains a similar internal control dynamic locally.
In contrast to these "negative notes," Isabel Ruiz emphasized Alcalá's "advances thanks to the management of Judith Piquet," underscoring that this management model "focused on citizens and the essential needs of the city" is what truly matters to the residents of Alcalá.
