The initiative is born with the objective of guaranteeing healthy eating, facilitating daily life, promoting autonomy, preventing vulnerable situations, and contributing to people having more time to participate in the city's life.
The service will offer healthy and varied menus, designed by nutritionists, with options adapted to individual needs. Users can choose between lunch, dinner, or both, and decide whether to receive the menus at their homes with no additional delivery cost, or pick them up at any of the five municipal senior centers in Coslada.
An added value will be periodic contact with users. Visits from social workers will allow for direct contact and help detect possible situations of vulnerability, isolation, or need for support, making the service a tool for prevention and accompaniment.
“"We want this service to go far beyond just bringing a meal home. We want to facilitate daily life, but also be close, accompany, and have a new way to detect vulnerable situations and act when necessary."
The project also incorporates a perspective linked to time use, freeing citizens from tasks such as deciding what to eat, grocery shopping, and cooking, so they can invest that time in going out, participating, meeting others, and enjoying community life.
With this new resource, the Department of Social Services and Elderly continues to strengthen municipal policies aimed at promoting autonomy, active aging, prevention of vulnerable situations, and enabling people to remain in their usual environment.
