Coslada Celebrates CortoBerlanga Festival Highlighting Social Values and Youth

The third edition of the competition, promoted by IES Luis García Berlanga, awards 49 works from various nationalities at the Teatro de la Jaramilla.

The Teatro de la Jaramilla in Coslada hosts the awards ceremony for the third edition of the CortoBerlanga Festival, a competition that promotes education and social values among children and young people.

This event, focused on childhood and youth themes, is an initiative by IES Luis García Berlanga and its AMPA, with the collaboration of the Coslada City Council. The awards presentation was led by the delegated Councilor for Culture of Coslada and the director of IES Luis García Berlanga.

In this edition, the festival received a total of 49 works from five different nationalities. Of these, nine were selected as finalists in the amateur category, twelve in the professional category, and six in the mental health category. A significant detail is that 40% of the submitted projects were made by women, a figure that rises to 70% among the finalist projects.
Awards are distributed across various categories, including Best Children's and Youth Public Short Film, Best Children's and Youth Amateur Short Film, and Best Children's and Youth Professional Short Film. Additionally, a special award for Best Short Film on Mental Health will be granted, sponsored by the Coslada Labor Rehabilitation Center (CRL) and the Corredor del Henares Mental Health Association (Asamec).
