The Coslada City Council has reported the activation of the yellow alert for high temperatures for today and tomorrow, with maximums expected of 36 degrees today and 28 degrees tomorrow. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) worsens the forecast for Thursday, when an orange alert and temperatures of up to 39 degrees are expected during the central hours of the day.
Given this episode of intense heat, citizens are reminded of the importance of following the recommendations of health authorities and taking extreme precautions, especially for elderly people, young children, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses.
The City Council recommends avoiding direct sun exposure during the central hours of the day, reducing physical activity, and avoiding outdoor sports. It also advises staying frequently hydrated with water, even without feeling thirsty, and remaining in cool places or in the shade.
It is suggested to wear light, loose-fitting, breathable clothing in light colors, and to protect oneself with a hat or cap. It is also recommended to close windows, blinds, and curtains during the day, and to ventilate at night, as well as not to leave minors, the elderly, or animals inside parked vehicles.
In case of symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, or headache, it is urged to consult health professionals. The City Council calls for collective responsibility and requests the collaboration of citizens to identify and help those who may be at risk.
