The Civil Guard has initiated an investigation against an individual for a potential animal cruelty offense, following the discovery of a horse in critical condition in Valdemingómez by Seprona agents, which ultimately required euthanasia.

The incident began after an alert was received by agents from Rivas-Vaciamadrid, who were informed about an immobile horse surrounded by waste in the Valdemingómez area. Upon arrival, officers from the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) confirmed the animal's severe condition.
Given the equine's critical state, the veterinary team from the Madrid City Council (SEVEMUR) was immediately activated. After a thorough assessment, specialists determined that the only humane option was to euthanize the horse, subsequently performing a necropsy to ascertain the causes of its condition.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the horse had a microchip, enabling authorities to identify and locate its owner. As a result, this individual is now under investigation for a possible animal cruelty offense, according to information provided by the Civil Guard.
