The city of Alcalá de Henares continues to experience water supply issues this Wednesday, despite the main fault affecting the network being resolved on Tuesday, prompting the University of Alcalá de Henares (UAH) to suspend its classes.

The Mancomunidad del Sorbe has announced that, although the incident causing supply problems in Alcalá de Henares has been resolved, reservoirs are gradually refilling, and service is expected to be restored throughout this Wednesday morning.

"The reservoirs are slowly filling up, and service will be restored throughout the morning."

Since early morning, residents of Alcalá de Henares have reported persistent supply problems, with taps barely producing a trickle of water or experiencing sporadic total cuts. As of 8:00 AM this Wednesday, the situation was critical in several parts of the city.
The Alcalá de Henares City Council reported on Tuesday that the interruptions originated from a pipe burst in Yunquera de Henares (Guadalajara), compounded by subsequent incidents in the network. These events forced the suspension of service in 44 municipalities managed by MAS, including Alcalá.
Although the main fault was repaired on Tuesday, Mayor Judith Piquet indicated that the full restoration of supply in the Complutense city would be slower due to its position in the network. As a precautionary measure, the University of Alcalá de Henares (UAH) has temporarily suspended classes in the buildings of the Higher Polytechnic School, Nursing and Physiotherapy, Medicine, and Environmental and Forensic Sciences.
