Last Thursday, the mayoress of Alcalá de Henares, Judith Piquet, led the session of the Board of Directors of the Alcalá de Henares World Heritage Consortium. This body, composed of the Community of Madrid, the City Council of Alcalá de Henares, and the University of Alcalá, reviewed the actions undertaken over the past year.
Among the actions highlighted by the City Council are the restoration of the roof near the entrance of the former Sementales barracks, the rehabilitation of the main facade of the Casa Tapón on San Felipe Neri street, and consolidation work on the Basilica-Thermae of Complutum.
For its part, the University of Alcalá reported on the recovery and partial restructuring of the roof of the north staircase of the Faculty of Economic, Business, and Tourism Sciences.
During the meeting, attended by the Director General of Historical Heritage of the CAM, Bartolomé González, and the rector of the UAH, Carmelo García, among other authorities, the mayoress welcomed the new members of the Consortium's Board of Directors and Executive Commission, appointed after the Rectoral elections held at the University of Alcalá on March 3rd.
