The Mancomunidad de Aguas del Sorbe (MAS) has intensified its technical efforts to restore water supply in Alcalá de Henares, one of the areas most affected by a recent incident, successfully tripling the water flow while urging citizens to use water responsibly.

This Wednesday, MAS reported that the flows circulating through its supply network have reached 1,600 liters per second. This figure is part of the extraordinary technical operation deployed to accelerate service recovery in Alcalá de Henares. The entity explained that the evolution of municipal networks is progressing towards a balance between high and low-pressure supply, a process that requires time after the complete emptying of reservoirs and pipelines.

"In those localities where the low-pressure pipelines were empty, it is necessary to be patient while both the reservoirs and the network are refilled. News is already being received from areas, especially Alcalá and Guadalajara, where the supply is starting to reach residents."

Juan Carlos Martín · Vice President of MAS
During the previous night, the first pipeline to Alcalá de Henares transported 150 liters per second. This flow progressively increased to 380 liters per second by early Wednesday morning and, from 11:00 AM, was optimized to reach 696 liters per second, tripling the initially restored volume. MAS clarifies that these flow variations are common after a complete emptying of municipal reservoirs, as network behavior also depends on the specific needs of each municipality and the time required for infrastructure to return to normal operation.
Given this situation, the mancomunidad has urged the population to use water responsibly while the service stabilization is completed. Juan Carlos Martín has appealed to the solidarity of residents, asking them to avoid any waste to allow municipal reservoirs to fill and facilitate the full recovery of the system. Additionally, the entity has arranged for a truck with bottled water to be sent for distribution by Civil Protection to health centers, social facilities, and other groups in Alcalá de Henares, where supply problems have persisted due to its location at the end of the supply system.
The Mancomunidad de Aguas del Sorbe has also expressed gratitude for the public's understanding during these hours and has advised affected individuals to follow information through official channels as normalization efforts continue.
