Since last May, over 20 local groups have participated in the municipal programming. An example is the 'Summer at La Quinta' program, held in the gardens of the Quinta de Cervantes, which this weekend will feature music with local talent, as reported by the City Council.
Furthermore, last Thursday marked the third meeting of 2026 for local entities and artists from the Alcalá Artistic Directory. This initiative aims to foster participation from entities, companies, and individual artists, in collaboration with the Culture Councilor, Santiago Alonso, and the Department's staff, to gather proposals and suggestions from the cultural sector.
Currently, the Artistic Directory comprises 399 registered entities and artists across disciplines such as theater, music, dance, literature, audiovisuals, and visual arts.
Santiago Alonso highlighted that these meetings facilitate a "direct dialogue between the institution and the local creative sector." Councilors from other areas also participate to "coordinate joint initiatives and optimize the use of municipal spaces," aiming for transparency and open competition in managing culture and municipal venues.
The councilor emphasized the launch of new cycles such as Alcalá a Escena, Alcalá Expone, Tardes en el Corral, and Alcalá Jam Sessions, which expand participation opportunities for local artists.
