The mayor, Alberto Escribano, shared the news after a meeting with the project architects, the construction company, and the school's management. Also present at the meeting were the Councillor for Education, Alejandro Machado, and the Councillor for City Maintenance, Francisco de Paula Serrano.
The intervention, as explained by the City Council in a statement, will involve a complete overhaul of the children's pavilion facilities. Planned improvements include a total renovation of the bathrooms, with the addition of one exclusively for teaching staff, as well as the installation of new flooring in classrooms and common areas.
Additionally, walls and ceilings will be painted, and a cork baseboard will be installed to enhance the safety of younger students. The current lighting system will also be completely replaced with LED technology.
“"It was my commitment, to do something that had never been done in any school in our city, and it was non-negotiable."
The project also includes the renovation of all doors, including those providing access to the building, along with updating signage and fire protection systems. On the exterior, the works will involve remodeling the facade, repairing damage, and repainting it. This action is part of the government agreement signed between PP and Vox.
