Twenty educational centers in Alcalá de Henares have participated in the municipal initiative 'Te doy mi palabra', where students have developed and presented projects based on terms chosen by their educational communities.

The Department of Education of the Alcalá de Henares City Council has once again organized 'Te doy mi palabra', an educational proposal coinciding with Book Day. This year, twenty centers presented original works, each focusing on a word selected by its educational community.
Students delved into the meaning of each term and the reasons behind its selection. Their presentations included illustrations that visually represented the chosen concepts, adding an artistic dimension to their reflection.
The main objective of this activity is to stimulate reading and written expression among students in Early Childhood and Primary Education, linking these skills to the importance of Book Day.
Participating centers include the Pablo Picasso Special Education school, San Gabriel, Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Nuestra Señora del Val, Miguel Hernández, Manuel Azaña, Luis Vives, Juan de Austria, Infanta Catalina, Gredos San Diego, Escuelas Pías, Dulcinea, Doctora de Alcalá, Daoíz y Velarde, Cristóbal Colón, Alborada, Ciudad del Aire, Cervantes, Beatriz Galindo, and Lope de Vega.
The councilor for Education, Lola López, presided over the institutional event where the works were unveiled. Representatives from each school had the opportunity to publicly present their chosen word and explain the work process involved.
Each participating center received recognition along with a batch of books to enrich its school library. The works will be published on the City Council's website and social media, coinciding with the celebration of Book Day.
The selected words cover a wide range of concepts, including dignity, to sow, heart, journey, treasures, to listen, equality, community, and spring, in addition to serendipity, once upon a time, echo, integration, effort, freedom, melting pot, music, and magic. This diversity of terms highlights the centers' commitment to values education and fostering creativity.
