The Community of Madrid has inaugurated two new healthcare facilities in Parla: the Parla Este Health Center and a mental health complex, with a 12.3 million euro investment aimed at improving primary care and mental health services for local residents.

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has highlighted the regional government's commitment to strengthening Primary Care and mental health. These new resources in Parla, which include the Parla Este Health Center and a mental health complex linked to the Infanta Cristina Public Hospital, are part of a broader strategy.
The current budgets of the Community of Madrid reflect a 10% increase in investment allocated to Primary Care, reaching nearly 3 billion euros, representing more than a quarter of the total budget. Of the 34 health centers promised for this legislative term, six are already operational, and the rest are expected to open their doors between this year and 2027.

"Primary Care is the gateway to the healthcare system. 90% of consultations are resolved at this level of care, while the remaining 10% require referral to specialists."

Since 2019, the autonomous Executive has established seven day hospitals for children and adolescents, with plans to add two more this year at Santa Sofía in San Sebastián de los Reyes and at Henares in Coslada. These initiatives are part of the Strategic Plan for Mental Health and Addictions, which has incorporated over 400 specialists into the healthcare system.
The new infrastructure in Parla, with an investment of 12.3 million euros, is located on a plot of over 5,500 square meters on Planeta Venus Street. The complex, covering 6,770 square meters distributed over three floors, has more than 70 professionals and, since February 2, has been serving over 16,500 residents, including nearly 4,000 minors.
The Parla Este Health Center, the fifth in the municipality and the sixth opened in the region during this legislative term, is located on the ground floor. It has 33 professionals and offers consultations in Family Medicine, Nursing, and Pediatrics, as well as areas for extractions and emergencies. On the first floor, the Mental Health Center, with over 1,700 square meters, provides differentiated care for adults and child-adolescent populations, with 37 consultation rooms, group therapy rooms, and a specific emergency area. The team at this center consists of 40 professionals, including 14 psychiatrists, eight psychologists, and eight nurses, along with social workers, occupational and community therapy specialists, and administrative staff.
