Both facilities, operational since February 2, are staffed by over 70 healthcare professionals. The regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, visited the premises to highlight the efforts of the Autonomous Executive in strengthening Primary Care and mental health assistance.
The new premises, located on Planeta Venus Street, share a building. The ground floor houses the Parla East Health Center, offering consultations in Family Medicine, Nursing, and Pediatrics. The first floor is dedicated to the mental health facility, providing differentiated care for adults and children/adolescents, along with consultations, therapy rooms, and an emergency area.
The health center has 33 professionals, while the mental health area boasts a multidisciplinary team of 40 specialists, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers. Ayuso also announced that the regional government will launch a new mental health plan and a specific suicide prevention plan this year, emphasizing the administration's commitment to combating what she described as a “pandemic.”
The president also noted that out of the 34 health centers pledged for the legislature, six are already operational, and the rest will open progressively until 2027.
“"The institutional visit of a president to a city should not be a unilateral act, but an opportunity to unite, coordinate, and respect those who represent their neighbors."
The institutional visit was not without controversy. The mayor of Parla, Ramón Jurado, expressed his displeasure on the social network X for not having been informed in advance of the event. The mayor accused the regional leader of acting with “disregard” towards the City Council and the citizens of Parla.
