Man Seriously Injured in Getafe After Being Hit by Car During Marriage Proposal at Car Meet

A 36-year-old man has been seriously injured in Getafe after being hit by a vehicle while proposing to his partner at a modified car meet, an incident that occurred in the early hours of April 3rd to 4th.

The incident took place on Calle Destreza, located in an industrial estate in the municipality of Getafe, where the couple was surrounded by vehicles performing drifts. Shortly after footage of the scene was recorded, the driver of one of the cars lost control and struck the man.

The affected individual suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and was consequently transferred to the Doce de Octubre Hospital in the capital.

The driver responsible for the hit-and-run fled the scene, according to sources who spoke to El Mundo, noting the presence of “at least 200 cars in the vicinity.” Subsequently, the alleged culprit was arrested by police officers in the town of Fuenlabrada. He is currently under investigation for alleged serious injury due to recklessness and a crime against road safety.
