The Getafe City Council has initiated a new program for the prevention and early diagnosis of HIV and other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), aiming to promote sexual health and ensure access to healthcare for all citizens.

This socio-health initiative focuses on the individual, ensuring comprehensive care, respect for diversity, confidentiality, and health equity. Its main objective is to facilitate citizens' access to prevention, detection, and sexual health care, especially for groups most exposed to STIs, such as young people, individuals in prostitution, or the migrant population, who often face greater difficulties in accessing the healthcare system.

Access to rapid HIV and syphilis tests and specialized counseling in each case is a key strategy to promote health and prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted infections, which are experiencing a resurgence in groups such as young people.

Rapid HIV and syphilis tests, along with specialized counseling, are considered fundamental tools for health promotion and the prevention of the transmission of these infections, which have seen an increase in groups such as young people.
The Doctor Luis Montes Municipal Health Center, located in Getafe, is responsible for conducting these free tests for residents of the municipality. In addition to this program, the center offers other services such as Sexual counseling for young people, Psychological care service for vulnerability, and Sexual diversity consultation. Soon, the Municipal Dentist service will also be added.
To access the tests, interested individuals can make an appointment by calling 912027962, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There is also the option to attend without an appointment on Wednesdays, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
