Loranca Lake, an emblematic spot for the district, has reopened after a comprehensive intervention that involved an investment of nearly 150,000 euros. The works included cleaning the lake basin and renewing the water sheet, significantly improving its environmental and landscape condition.
In addition to the lake's improvement, an intensive intervention was carried out throughout the park's surroundings. This has allowed for the recovery of green areas through seeding meadows, mowing and clearing tasks, and new plantings, including the central island. The irrigation system has also been optimized, and urban furniture has been renewed and expanded, with new waste bins, a drinking water fountain, ping-pong tables, and picnic areas. Decorative lighting has been increased for better nighttime enjoyment, and walkways, bridges, and accesses have been replaced to improve comfort and accessibility.
“"With this intervention, the City Council reaffirms its commitment to improving public spaces, betting on environmental care, sustainability, and quality of life in the city's neighborhoods."
Another investment point is the Fair Park, which will be transformed into a multifunctional space. In addition to hosting fair attractions and large-format concerts, it will feature new facilities for rest and outdoor leisure, including more trees and picnic tables. The mayor highlighted on social media that the venue will have an auditorium for about 30,000 people and a large park with a lake.
The 7 hectares of the Fair Park will integrate recreational areas with resting zones, children's playgrounds, water games, forest spaces, and sports activities for all ages. All of this will be framed within a landscape treatment with abundant vegetation and a large lake that will offer various recreational activities. The perimeter areas will also feature lush vegetation, acting as a distinctive element of the venue.
