Located on Planeta Venus Street, these centers provide coverage to more than 16,000 residents and are integrated with the mental health complex of the Infanta Cristina University Hospital. During her visit, Ayuso highlighted the spaciousness and modernity of the building, emphasizing its role in strengthening Primary Care and mental health assistance.
“"It is a “spacious and modern” building that not only reinforces Primary Care, but also the care response in mental health, with professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists."
The president focused on the increase in problems related to family crises and addictions, situations that, according to her, are reported by families and professionals in the municipality. She assured that the Community of Madrid will continue to strengthen this area, framing her announcements within the regional mental health and suicide prevention strategy.
Madrid has a Strategic Plan for Mental Health and Addictions 2022-2024, in addition to a Suicide Prevention Plan 2022-2026. In October 2025, the regional government announced the creation of two new day hospitals for adolescent mental health in Parla and Arganda del Rey. Ayuso described suicide as a “pandemic that is exploding before our eyes” and reiterated the Community's commitment to reinforcing specialized resources and teams.
The healthcare discourse of the Madrid executive has been linked to significant budgetary reinforcement, with the Health department concentrating 35.9% of the budget in the 2026 regional accounts, making it the department with the largest weight. The president also addressed the shortage of doctors and nurses, a national problem, proposing improvements in remuneration and care benefits as a solution. This message comes at a time of pressure for Madrid's healthcare system due to the lack of specific profiles, a situation recently denounced by Primary Care professionals.
