This significant drop in the number of unemployed, which translates to 347 fewer people out of work compared to the previous year, exceeds the average for the Community of Madrid, where the reduction stood at 3.81%. The improvement has been particularly notable among women, with 204 fewer unemployed, and in the age group between 24 and 44 years, which has seen a decrease of 235 people in unemployment.
“"Municipal employment policies work, and now the objective of all administrations must be to protect these jobs from the consequences of the war and consolidate the Alcorcón we have always defended as a place to live."
For his part, Carlos Carretero, Councillor for Employment and Training and president of IMEPE, emphasized the organization's role in job placement. He announced that IMEPE will continue to develop a public service that connects job seekers with local businesses and companies choosing Alcorcón, ensuring that new positions are filled by residents of the municipality.
