The inaugural session, titled 'Recupera tu mente' (Recover Your Mind), will be led by Rojas Estapé and will focus on how the mind and attention are affected by overexposure to digital stimuli and excessive consumption. The expert will offer strategies to "reconquer the mind and life" in the face of these modern challenges.
The 'Pozuelo en Mente' series will continue through May and June with talks addressing crucial topics such as anxiety and depression in adolescents and young people, eating disorders, and mental health in the elderly, including unwanted loneliness and emotional well-being.
Mental health has become one of the main challenges of current societies.
The City Council emphasized that factors such as academic stress, work pressure, life changes, loneliness, and the impact of digitalization are contributing to a significant increase in problems like anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.
Specific conferences scheduled include 'Anxiety and depression in adolescents and young people' on May 13, 'Eating disorders in young people' on May 20, 'Depression and anxiety in the elderly' on May 27, and 'Unwanted loneliness and emotional well-being' on June 3.
Complementing this series, the Department of Social Policy and the Elderly has been offering a monthly workshop program since January. During April, these workshops will cover topics such as personal time management and mental health on April 15, emotions in motherhood and family communication on April 22, and physical exercise for psychological well-being on April 29.
Admission to the conferences is free, with priority booking for residents of Pozuelo de Alarcón starting this Monday, and for the general public from the 13th, via the City Council's website.
