The Pozuelo de Alarcón City Council has launched an extensive program of activities throughout April to commemorate World Autism Awareness Day, aiming to raise visibility for this condition and foster a more inclusive and respectful society.

The initiatives, designed for various age groups, include creative workshops and participatory gatherings. On Tuesday, April 7, the playroom at Espacio Familia will host a bracelet-making workshop with the motto ‘We are infinite,’ aimed at children aged 3 to 9. Subsequently, on Thursday, April 9, Espacio Ocio will be the setting for the ‘I also have something to say’ meeting, where teenagers and young adults can express their desires for inclusion.
The program also includes informative sessions for families and professionals. On Monday, April 20 at 6:00 PM, a psychologist from Espacio Familia will deliver the conference ‘Disorders in Adolescence,’ addressing key aspects of this stage. The following day, Tuesday, April 21 at the same time, Marta R. Cogollos will lead the discussion ‘Living with Autism in the Family,’ offering practical strategies to support children with ASD.
The series of activities will conclude on Friday, April 24 at 6:30 PM with the screening of the documentary Código Marcos at Educarte. This audiovisual work, which narrates the life of a child with autism in Pozuelo through his mother's recordings, is supported by the Príncipes de Asturias school.
All activities are free, although some require prior registration. For Espacio Ocio activities, reservations can be made by calling 91.714.16.93 or sending an email. Those interested in Espacio Familia activities should contact 91.452.27.11 or by email.
